Let me tell you one thing; people will never understand you completely.
They will never understand how much you wanted to get out of your own skin sometimes, they will only see how dark you are. They will never understand the chaos inside your head because what they care about is how much knowledge you’ve got.
They will never understand how f*cked your life is, because it’s the brand of the clothes you’re wearing that matters. They will never understand how much you wanted to write about humanity and society but you ended up writing about love, because that’s what is lacking in this world.
They will never understand how much you wanted to reach your dreams, but you’re being judged because you settled for less. They will never understand how hard every day is for you, because they will only see your pimple marks and how fat you’re getting and how your belly is sticking through your clothes.
They will never understand how much you want to love someone but end up letting go, because you wanted to love yourself first.
They will always find your flaws and never reach what’s inside the body. They will never understand you. They might look you in the eye.
But they will only see it’s color; but never your soul.
So, please take it easy with yourself. Let your heart be hurt and disappointed. Let your feelings soar and be voiced out. Let your soul wander and wonder.
Life is not only about happiness, life is not about them. Let yourself have a little bit of black and white, dull moments and misadventures. Let them misjudge you, let them see the way they see, because it’s not your business anyway.
Focus on finding yourself. Focus on finding your strength. Focus on your growth. Maybe somehow along the way, in between the crossroads of sadness and letting go, you’ll find the real you, regardless of what they said.
You got to discover your heart in the most drowning times. Only then, you will manage how to swim and go ashore.
I’m 25 yrs old and from the Philippines. Despite anxiety and fits of sadness I still choose to move forward and always look to the brighter and positive sides of things. My Instagram account is actually my virtual diary, talking about the things that I actually feel at the moment, or write things that are the exact opposite of what I’m feeling. One of the biggest factors of my journey to self love and acceptance is BTS. Connect with Kettner through her Instagram:
