Do you recognize yourself now?
How much have you changed for yourself?
And how much of yourself did you change for others?
Are you counting all the people who have come and gone?
Or you choose to stay for those that never leave?
How many heartaches did you endure?
And how many souls did you shatter?
Have you surpassed your depression?
You’ll never find yourself in places you visit, or people you’ve met, or songs you’ve heard, or on books and movies you’ve read and watched.
No. It’s not as cliché like that.
Life will never throw a stone on you, only so you can get away with it that easily. You might find good things in those places, people, and things. Those might give you something, a mark.
Memories. Emotions. Experiences.
Something you can relate to. Something to hold on to. Something that could make you keep going. Just ‘some things’. But never yourself.
It’s just that, but you’ll only find you if you would try and take a look into that void within you. Your imperfections—what is lacking, your scars, your darkness, your chaos. If only you’ll take a little peek on that hole and you will see, you are there.
You are your own imperfections. Your own lacking. Your own scars. Your own darkness. That chaos lives within you. That chaos made you a human, made you real and alive. Those put you wherever you are now. And be what you are now.
Only with self-acceptance, with self-love that you will find you.
Not simple, not easy, takes a little long time, a hard process, but step by step—you’ll make it.
I’m 25 yrs old and from the Philippines. Despite anxiety and fits of sadness I still choose to move forward and always look to the brighter and positive sides of things. My Instagram account is actually my virtual diary, talking about the things that I actually feel at the moment, or write things that are the exact opposite of what I’m feeling. One of the biggest factors of my journey to self love and acceptance is BTS. Connect with Kettner through her Instagram:
